On this tour you will see the landscapes that inspired many artists during the 19th century. Our first stop will be Auvers sur Oise which was the inspiration for artists such as van Gogh, Pissarro and Cezanne. It is also the final resting place of Vincent van Gogh.
After a lunch stop we will visit the house of renowned impressionist Claude Monet where the artist spent his final years and did extensive work both on the landscaping and the house itself. He produced some of his famous garden paintings based on these same gardens.

HOTEL PICK UP
We will collect you from your hotel in one of our comfortable vehicles at around 9am. On our way to Auvers sur Oise our licensed guide will give you an introduction to the history of the Van Gogh's time here. The drive is approximately 1 hour.
THE HOUSE OF VAN GOGH
We will arrive in the village of Auvers sur Oise where a young Vincent Van Gogh made his home for the last 70 days of his life. During this time he painted nearly 80 canvases based on the pretty village, its landscapes and its people. During the Van Gogh house tour you will visit the room where he once lived.
FINAL RESTING PLACE OF VAN GOGH
Next we will head over to the church of Auvers. Your guide will take you through the cemetery and you will visit the grave of Van Gogh and his brother who are laid to rest next to each other. You will have a chance to pay your respects to this famous artist.
STOP FOR LUNCH
We will take a break for lunch in the picturesque town of Giverny. Your guide will be able to recommend a suitable restaurant for you.
After lunch we will visit the former house and gardens of Claude Monet where he lived for 43 years until his death. The decoration and colors of the house were chosen by him and were definitely not in keeping with the trends at the time. You'll notice these colors from the pink facade and green shutters on the outside of the house to the yellow dining room and blue kitchen and sitting room inside.
THE FLOWER GARDEN
There are two parts to Claude Monet's garden. In the flower garden (Clos Normand) we will see a mixture of rare and common flowers with varying colors and textures. Monet disliked the idea of having a constrained garden which is evident here and in contrast to his water garden.
THE WATER GARDEN
The Water Garden was based on paintings of Japanese gardens that Monet was enamored with. He designed the garden himself and drew inspiration from the Japanese bridge and of course the water lilies that bloomed in the pond. You'll have a chance to explore and walk over his famous bridge.
RETURN TO HOTEL
Once the tour concluded we will start the drive back to Paris. We aim to return you to your hotel at around 6.30pm. If you’d prefer us to take you to a bar or restaurant to continue your evening in Paris, then please let us know.
